Teresa Todd believes that dreams inspire us to live life to the MAX! Teresa has a powerful faith, an optimistic vision, and a passion to motivate others to reach for the stars!
Teresa is not just a native of the San Fernando Valley, it has always been her home…she loves it, she knows it and all its surrounding communities. She witnessed the explosive transformation of the sleepy, suburban blend of residential and agricultural properties sprinkled with commercial development to now include mega malls, commuter-filled freeways, and multi-million dollar complexes. An award-winning math student with a flair for teaching, Teresa graduated with honors from James Monroe High School, received her A.A. Degree at Valley College, and continued on at California State University, Northridge as a Business Administration major. Teresa began her career working in the banking and public utility sectors, providing her with valuable experience in customer service, finance, and economics. For a time, Teresa put her career on hold and devoted her attention to her family, church leadership, and community affairs.
Family has always been important to Teresa. She has shared her life with her husband, Matt, their two sons, their loving wives, and their three energetic grandsons. Teresa and Matt live in a beautiful home in Chatsworth. They have enjoyed traveling throughout the US from Hawaii to the east coast, plus London, Paris, and, fulfilling her life-long dream, throughout Spain.
In 1985, Teresa started her career in real estate. Real estate was perfect for achieving both her professional and personal goals. Professionally, she could assist people fulfill their real estate dreams. Personally, she could spend time with her family, travel, maintain involvements in her church and in the community. Teresa obtained her real estate salesperson license and became a consistent multi-million dollar producer. Within the real estate community, Teresa proved to be a skillful negotiator, a resourceful problem solver, and creative marketer. Because of her skills and knowledge, she developed a loyal following of committed clients. She assisted clients and fellow agents succeed in their real estate endeavors. In 1998, Syd Leibovitch invited Teresa to join the Paramount Properties management team at the Porter Ranch office. With both sons in college, this opportunity came at the most perfect time. She achieved her original real estate goal, to be a full-time sales manager.
In 2003, Teresa continued her education and became a licensed real estate broker. Teresa loved being a RODEO REALTY branch manager. With her passion for teaching, she conducted weekly office meetings and training sessions. She shared her negotiating techniques, her escrow-closing skills, and her creative marketing ideas. She challenged her agents to truly know real estate and to think like an entrepreneur. Her positive energy and upbeat attitude motivated them to press-on even in difficult circumstances. Her insight and calm diplomacy assisted her in reconciling transaction conflicts and working through to 'win-win' situations. Knowing that they could count on Teresa to be available day or night to assist them, she had become affectionately known as 'Mother Teresa.' She encouraged her agents and staff to have fun, to laugh, and to reach for the stars. She was proud of her agents for their measurable success at making their office Number 1 in sales, 7 out of the 10 years that she managed it.
Although last year Teresa retired from her position as branch manager, she continues to be a very active and successful real estate broker and a recipient of the Rodeo Realty Director's Circle Award. She keeps herself up to date on the current real estate market and legal requirements. She remains committed to serving clients, assisting them in buying, selling, or leasing properties…and making real estate profitable for them!
Teresa shares, "One of my favorite fairy tales is the story of Cinderella. It is not because of the obvious ending with Cinderella living happily ever after with the handsome prince, but because the 'fairy godmother' took simple, everyday items from Cinderella's life (mice, horse, pumpkin, etc.) and helped make her dreams come true. That's what I love about real estate. I am involved in the everyday lives of clients and agents. My greatest reward is seeing the excitement in their eyes when they have accomplished that impossible dream. Whether it's a first-time buyer, a step-up homeowner, or an investor, I love sharing that excitement with them and knowing that just maybe some of my 'fairy godmother magic' helped to make their dreams come true!"
